James P. Duffy, III, Presides Over the
American Club Thanksgiving Celebration
Mr. Duffy, in his capacity as President of the
American Club of the Riviera, presided over the Club's annual celebration of
Thanksgiving that took place in the Salle Empire of the Hotel de Paris in
Monte-Carlo, Monaco. As always, the celebration was well attended by local
dignitaries, senior representatives of the US Navy, including Admiral Mauney,
the Admiral of the US Sixth Fleet and his senior staff, and the US Consul
General from Marseille, France. Dr. Jean C. Kendall was supposed to attend this
event but was unable to do so because of the late arrival of her flight from New
York.

James P. Duffy, III, Represents the American
Club at a Reception on Board the USS Winston
Churchill, the Flagship of the US Navy's Sixth Fleet
Mr. Duffy, as president of the American Club of
the Riviera, represented the Club at a reception hosted by Admiral Mauney aboard
his Flagship, the USS Winston Churchill, which was then docked at the French
Navy Base in Toulon, France. The reception was attended by hundreds of local
French dignitaries as well as members of the local American community.

James P. Duffy, III, Represents the Firm at the
TAGLaw Fall Meeting in Prague, Czech Republic
Following the Lex Mundi Asia-Pacific meeting, Mr.
Duffy proceeded to Prague to represent the Firm at the TAGLaw joint meeting with
TIAG, TAGLaw's sister group for international accounting firms. This was one of
the largest TAGLaw meetings yet, and it also included a large number of
international accounting firms from TIAG. One of the important social events
associated with the meeting was a luncheon with US Ambassador Cabaniss, the
Ambassador to the Czech Republic. This was an interesting curiosity for Mr.
Duffy, because Ambassador Cabaniss's predecessor was Ambassador Stapleton who
then became the US Ambassador to France, whom Mr. Duffy also knows.

Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting of Lex Mundi in Kuala Lumpur
Mr. Duffy represented the Firm at the
Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting of Lex Mundi that took place in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia. The meeting included representatives of Lex Mundi firms from all
over the world, but principally from Asia and the Pacific. it included
many very interesting substantive law programs as well as social events designed
to provide the member firms with opportunities to exchange views and
information. The Firm's Monaco Office is the exclusive Lex Mundi member
firm for the Principality of Monaco.

International Law and Practice Section at the
New York State House of Delegates Meeting in Albany
Mr. Duffy, as a recent former Chair of the
Section, is one of its three Delegates to the House of Delegates of the New York
State Bar Association, the governing body of the Association. The meeting
took place in Albany, the Capitol of the State of New York, and the home of the
Association, and considered a number of important issues facing the organized
bar in the State of New York.

American Club Meeting at the Mas d'Artigny
Mr. Duffy, in his capacity as President of the
American Club of the Riviera, presided over the Club's regular monthly meeting
at the Mas d'Artigny Hotel in St. Paul de Vence, France. The meeting was,
as usual, well attended and included representatives of the US Navy. The
Mas d'Artigny is always a popular venue with the Club because of its high
elevation that affords beautiful views of the sea, the coast, and the medieval
city of St. Paul de Vence. The hotel also has lovely verandas and gardens
that are filled with important outdoor sculptures from important contemporary
world-class artists.

James P. Duffy, III, Participates in the
Joint Meeting of the NYSBA International Law and
Practice Section and the Law Society of England and Wales
Mr. Duffy, as a former chair of the International
Law and Practice Section of the New York State Bar Association, participated in
the joint meeting the Section held at the headquarters of The Law Society of
England and Wales in London. The meeting included a number of substantive
law programs as well as a number of major social events. Mr. Duffy
co-chaired one of the plenary sessions of the substantive law programs. He
also participated in the pre-meeting events designed to integrate the Sections
foreign city Chapter Chairs into the activities of the Section. Many of
the social events took place in interesting venues in "Historic Legal London,"
such as Grey's Inn.

American Club Meeting at the Grand Hotel du Cap
Mr. Duffy, in his capacity as President of the
American Club of the Riviera, presided over the Club's regular monthly meeting
at the Grand Hotel du Cap in St. Jean-Cap Ferrat, France. The meeting was,
as usual, well attended and included representatives of the US Navy. The
Grand Hotel is always a popular venue with the Club because of its beautiful
views of the sea and the coast and its lovely verandas and gardens. the
cocktail portion of the meeting was on the main veranda. The luncheon that
followed was in one of the hotel's principal dining rooms.

Lex Mundi Annual Meeting in Prague, Czech Republic
Following the mobility negotiations in Toronto,
Canada, Mr. Duffy traveled to Prague, Czech Republic, via Amsterdam to participate in the Lex Mundi
Annual Meeting that proceeded the International Bar Association meeting in
Prague. It was the best attended Lex Mundi Annual Meeting to date.
Attorneys from a significant percentage of the Lex Mundi member firms and from
every region in which Lex Mundi has members were present for the Annual
Meeting.

James P. Duffy, III, Participates in Mobility
Negotiations With The Law Society of Upper Canada in Toronto
Mr. Duffy, as a member of the New York State Bar Association
Cross Border Practice Committee participated in a further negotiation session of
the mobility negotiations with The Law Society of Upper Canada, the regulatory
authority for the Ontario Bar. The Society hosted a reception and dinner
at Osgoode Hall in Toronto the night of September 20th, followed by negotiations
the following day, and then a lunch. The purpose of the negotiations is to
allow New York and Ontario attorneys to practice temporarily in the other
jurisdiction under circumstances permitted under the proposed New York
Multi-Jurisdictional Practice Rules.

Attend the Bal de la Croix Rouge in Monaco
Dr. Kendall accompanied Mr. Duffy to the Bal de
la Croix Rouge (Red Cross Ball), the annual height of the Summer social season
in Monaco. The ball was well attended and included Prince Albert II, the
new prince of Monaco. Dr. Kendall and Mr. Duffy were the guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Nicholas Stasinopoulos.

James P. Duffy, III, Represents the American Club at
the
US Consulate General in Marseilles to say Good Bye to US Counsel General Leslie
Mc Bee
Mr. Duffy and Dr. Kendall represented the
American Club of the Riviera at the good bye party for outgoing US Consul
General Leslie Mc Bee whose term was then ending. The party was extremely
well attended by personalities from all along the Cote d'Azur, including
representatives of the Consular Corps, the French and US militaries, and the
French government.

James P. Duffy, III, Presides Over the American Club
Fourth of July Celebrations at the Cafe de Paris in Monaco
Mr. Duffy, as President of the American Club of
the Riviera presided over the Club's Annual Dinner Dance to celebrate the Fourth
of July. The dinner dance is traditionally held on the night of July 3rd
in anticipation of July Fourth. This year's dinner dance was well attended
by senior officials of the United States Navy and from the Government of Monaco
and nearby regions of France. In addition. Mr. Duffy and Dr. Jean C.
Kendall also used the event as an occasion to celebrate their recent engagement
to be married.

James P. Duffy, III, Attends the New York State Bar
Association
House of Delegates Meeting in Cooperstown, New York on Behalf of the ILPS
Mr. Duffy participated in the House of Delegates
meeting in Cooperstown, New York as one of the three members of the House from
the International Law and Practice Section. The House of Delegates is the
governing body of the New York State Bar Association. Vincent Buzard was
installed as the new President of the Association at this meeting. He took
the oath of office from Chief Judge Judith Kaye of the New York State Court of
Appeals.

Lex Mundi Managing Partners' Conference in London
Mr. Duffy represented the Firm at the Annual
Managing Partners' Conference of the Lex Mundi member firms. The
conference was the best attended managing partners conference to date, and it
gave the managing partners of the respective member firms to get to know one
another better and to compare notes on best practices and ways in which the
member firms could work better together and with Lex Mundi.

Mr. Duffy, as a former chair of the
International Law and Practice Section of the New York State Bar Association
participated in the Section's Annual Executive Committee Retreat that took place
at the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs, NY, from June 3 to June 5,
2005. The Section uses this meeting for long term planning for the Section
and its activities. The meeting was well attended by the Section's current
leadership and a number of former Section Chairs.

New York State Bar Association Leadership Conference
Mr. Duffy, as a past Chair of the New York
State Bar Association International Law and Practice Section, was asked to speak
at a Leadership Conference the Association sponsored for new Section Chairs and
Bar leaders at the New York Marriott Marquis in Manhattan. The Panel was
moderated by incoming President-Elect Mark Alcott, and included the
Association's Past President Lorraine Tharp and others. The purpose of the panel
was to acquaint the incoming Bar leaders with their responsibilities as well as
the resources available through the Association for meeting those
responsibilities. The panel also discussed best practices for
leadership.

The Firm Secures an Injunction for the Repossi Group
Today, USDJ Denny Chin awarded the Repossi
Group a preliminary injunction against GS Distribution ("GSD"), the
former New York distributor of Repossi jewelry. The Repossi Group sought a
preliminary injunction to prevent further damages for trademark infringement for
GSD's misuse of the Repossi Group's federally registered trademark in connection
with goods and services, including but not limited to, marketing, advertising,
and sales of jewelry. The court effectively enjoined GSD from holding
itself out to the public as an authorized Repossi distributor and prevented GSD’s
future use of the Group’s trademarks. Additionally, GSD is forbidden
from selling or otherwise dissipating about $5.5 million of consigned
jewelry. The Repossi Group is a very successful and renowned, third
generation international family run jewelry business.

James P. Duffy, III, Represents the International
Law and Practice Section at the New York State Bar
Association House of Delegates Meeting in Albany, New York
Mr. Duffy represented the International Law and
Practice Section at the New York State Bar Association House of Delegates
Meeting held at the Crowne Plaza in Albany, New York. The meeting was one
of the longest in memory and considered two major positions for the NYSBA, that
of equal rights for same-sex relationships and an expanded definition of pro
bono activities. This was the first meeting at which the ILPS had three
delegates to the House, which was part of the NYSBA's efforts to broaden
diversity in the Association. The meeting was preceded by a caucus of
Section delegates, which Mr. Duffy also attended.

The Firm Files Domain Name Transfer Arbitrations for
Repossi.com and Repossi.us before the National Arbitration Forum
Today, the Firm filed UDRP and USDRP arbitration
proceedings before the National Arbitration Forum seeking the recovery of the
repossi.com and repossi.us domain names from Giuseppe Scavetta, the principal of
GS Distribution, Inc. The Repossi Group is already in litigation with GS
Distribution for the return of about $5.5 million in consigned jewelry and to
stop GS Distribution from continuing to use the Group's registered
trademarks. The Repossi Group contends Mr. Scavetta never had the right to
use the Repossi Group's registered trademarks as domain names and, with the
termination of the business relationship with GS Distribution, the domain names
must be transferred to the Repossi Group. The Firm has already arranged
for the transfer of repossi.net from another owner. The Firm chose the
National Arbitration Forum because it is one of the few that can handle .com and
.us domain name disputes. Mr. Scavetta must respond to the Repossi Group's
claims by April 14, 2005.

March 19, 2005, American Club Luncheon
The American Club held its March luncheon at the
Sea Club of Le Meridien Hotel in Monte-Carlo, Monaco. The Sea Club has
magnificent views of the Monégasque Coast and an excellent cuisine. The
meeting was well attended by many members from along the coast of the French
Riviera, which includes the Monégasque Coast as well.

The Firm Files Suit for Repossi SAM in the
United States District Court for the Southern District of New York
The Firm filed suit today for Repossi, SAM, the
Flagship Member of the Repossi Group, against GS Distribution, the Repossi
Group's New York distributor. The suit seeks return of over $5.5 million
of high fashion jewelry consigned to GS Distribution or payment for any
unreturned jewelry. The suit also seeks damages for trademark infringement
for GS Distribution's misuse of the Repossi trademark. In addition, the
suit seeks to prevent GS Distribution's future use of the Group's
trademarks. GS Distribution must respond to the complaint by April 5,
2005, unless its time to do so is extended. Alberto Repossi, the president
of the Repossi Group is a third-generation, world-famous jeweler from Monaco
where he is the official jeweler for Prince Rainier III. For more

Mr. Duffy Represents the Firm at the
Lex Mundi North American Regional Meeting
Lex Mundi held its North American Regional
Meeting in Houston, Texas, from March 3, 2005, through March 6, 2005. Mr.
Duffy represented the Firm at the meeting. The Firm is the exclusive
member of Lex Mundi for Monaco. The meeting was one of the best attended
regional meetings with close to 200 attorneys from almost 100 countries
present. Among the many interesting topics discussed at the meeting were
Lex Mundi's plans to establish itself as a mark of excellence in the legal
profession. Lex Mundi is the premier legal network and also one of the
largest legal networks in the world.

Mr. Duffy Presides Over the
February 26, 2005, American Club Luncheon
The American Club held its February luncheon at
the Eden Casino in Juan les Pins, France. As Mr. Duffy was hospitalized at
the time of the January Installation of Officers luncheon, he was installed as
President of the Club for the 2005 year at this luncheon. The luncheon was
well attended and the Members were happy to host a number of US Navy officers
and their spouses, including Capt. Jay Chesnut and his wife, Clementine.
Dr. Jean C. Kendall accompanied Mr. Duffy.

Repossi, SAM, Retains the Firm To Assist
With a Dispute With New York Distributor
Alberto Repossi, the world-famous,
third-generation jeweler from Monaco, Paris, and London, and his Repossi Group
retained the Firm today to assist with a dispute with GS Distribution, the New
York distributor for the Repossi Group. Mr. Repossi and his father and
grandfather before him have been leading international figures in the jewelry
business. Mr. Repossi is the official jeweler for Prince Rainier III of
Monaco. He was also the jeweler the late Princess Diana of England chose
to supply the engagement ring she was to receive from Dodi Al Fayed.

Mr. Duffy represented the interests of the New
York State Bar Association International Law and Practice Section held at the
Marriott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan as part of the Annual Meeting of the New
York State Bar Association. The meeting had a number of very controversial
items, including a discussion of the role the Association should play in the
current debate on same-sex marriage.

With a Plaque to Commemorate his Term as ILPS Chair
Mr. Duffy attended the New York State Bar
Association International Law and Practice Section Executive Committee dinner at
the Penn Club in Manhattan. As the Immediate Past Chair of the Section, he
presented outgoing Chair Paul M. Frank with a plaque for his outstanding service
during 2004. He also congratulated incoming Chair Robert J. Leo on his
taking office.

James P. Duffy, III, Attends Memorial
Mass for the late Elaine M. Duffy's Birthday
Mr. Duffy was well enough recovered from his
recent gall bladder surgery to be able to attend a memorial Mass at St. Aidan's
Church in Williston Park, New York, for what would have been the sixty-second
birthday of his late wife Elaine M. Duffy. The Mass was attended by many
of Mrs. Duffy's friends and acquaintances.

President of The American Club of the Riviera
The American Club of the Riviera held its annual
Installation Luncheon Meeting at the Vista Palace in Roquebrune-Cap Martin,
France. Mr. Duffy was reelected President of the Club, but he was unable
to be present at the meeting due to his inability to travel due to his recent
surgery. The Club plans to administer the oath of office to Mr. Duffy at
its February luncheon meeting.

James P. Duffy, III, Enters
Hospital For Emergency Gall Bladder Surgery
Mr. Duffy's doctors sent him to Winthrop
University Hospital in Mineola, New York, on Monday morning January 10, 2005, to
have his gall bladder removed. The actual surgery took place the following
day. After a brief period of recuperation, Mr. Duffy is expected to be
able to resume his usual activities without difficulty.
