Butzel Long and the Firm Decide to Terminate Combination
Plans
The Firm and Butzel Long determined today that it
was not in their mutual best interests to proceed with the proposed combination.
The Firm is actively seeking a combination with another law firm that has a
significant presence in Manhattan that is interested in creating an
international practice or enhancing an existing international practice.

The Firm Agrees in Principle to Combination
With Butzel Long, the Michigan Member Firm of Lex Mundi
As announced at the Lex Mundi Annual Meeting in
Singapore on October 13, 2007, the Firm and Butzel Long have agreed to combine
in the practice of law. Mr. Duffy will become of counsel to Butzel Long,
the Firm's Monaco office will change its permission to practice under the name
Butzel Long Duffy, and the Firm's Mexico City office will become part of Butzel
Long's presence in Mexico City. Please watch this site for more

James P. Duffy, III, Represents the
Firm at the Lex Mundi Annual Meeting in Singapore
Mr. Duffy attended the Lex Mundi Annual Meeting
in Singapore on behalf of the the Firm. The meeting was one of the best
attended annual meetings yet and preceded the meeting of the International Bar
Association also held in Singapore. There were many important developments
affecting the Firm that occurred at this meeting, including the development
referred to above. The Firm's presence at this meeting in Singapore also
reflects the Firm's recognition of the growing importance of Asia as a place to
be incorporated in any global strategy.

James P. Duffy, III, Represents the Firm at
the Lex Mundi North American Regional Meeting in Toronto
Mr. Duffy, accompanied by Dr. Kendall, his wife,
represented the Firm at the Lex Mundi North American Regional meeting that took
place in Toronto, Onterio, Canada, from July 26, 2007, through July 28, 2007, at
the Park Hyatt Toronto Hotel. The meeting was well attended by
representatives from Lex Mundi firms from all over the world, and it afforded an
excellent opportunity for networking as well as substantive discussion of legal
issues and practice issues.
